Area of StudyMajoring in Bioengineering and Finance. Minor in Math Activities at Penn: Researcher in the Molecular Cell Engineering Laboratory, Weiss Tech House – Chair of the Mentoring Committee, Engineers Without Borders. Other Interests: Youth Bank, a small business incubator in Lagos, Nigeria founded by Penn alumni; Givology, an online grants-for-education database; basketball. Why M&T?M&T provided me the opportunity to learn both engineering and business concurrently, which I thought was immensely important in an increasingly interdisciplinary world. I was also drawn by the atmosphere of Penn and the M&T program, which I characterize as excitingly busy. The students continue to amaze me not only with their goals and aspirations, but also their accomplishments which are the end result of their pursuits. Life at PennStudents at Penn collectively have a diverse set of passions, and that is reflected in the numerous student groups represented here. Penn also does an excellent job helping students follow their passions and turning them into realities: starting a club, conducting research, or traveling abroad. Combine everyone's passion with a facilitating atmosphere and you have an exciting and busy campus -- this is Penn. Philadelphia is a fantastic city, and it is fun to explore new restaurants and travel to historic neighborhoods. Plans After GraduationI would like to pursue a master's degree in Economics for Development or Global Health Science through one of the several fellowships offered for post-graduate study in England. Afterwards, I would like to work in consulting or venture capital, focusing on biotechnology companies, before returning to school to get my MBA or PhD. I hope to leverage the skills I learn from M&T and beyond to find ways in which biotechnology can not only be profitable but also sustainable and socially impactful. |
