Update on Penn’s Influenza Prevention and Preparedness-September 2010
Influenza is a serious contagious respiratory illness that can lead to hospitalization and even death. Penn encourages everyone to take preventative measures such as covering coughs or sneezes with your elbow instead of your hands and washing your hands often with soap and water or alcohol based sanitizers. Penn students should visit Student Health Service for information regarding seasonal flu vaccine availability. Staff and faculty should look for announcements about Health Promotion and Wellness from Human Resources regarding the seasonal flu vaccine program.
Vaccination is one of the most important measures you can take to protect yourself, your family, your friends, and the Penn Community.
