Miller Ar55 received the 2003 William C. Noland Medal from the Virginia Society AIA last November, for his service in the field of historic landscape preservation and his devotion to the society. A retired chief historical architect for the U.S. National Park Service, he was the first director of the Virginia Department of Historical Resources; during his 28-year career with the National Park Service he was responsible for projects such as Independence Hall and the Statue of Liberty restoration. He continues to lecture with the Historic Richmond Foundation and sits on the advisory boards for Thomas Jeffersons Poplar Forrest, and the University of Virginias Academical Village and Stratford Hall. And he serves on the faculty of Goucher Colleges historic-preservation masters program. 56 Hugh D. Jascourt C56 has been re-appointed chair of the Greenbelt (Md.) Prior to moving to Tulsa, he completed the entire Cricket Communications project in Tulsa as Lucents market and site acquisition manager. He began his career with Virtua Health in 1969, and served as section chief of general medicine and assistant chief of internal medicine. He was one of the first trained nephrologists at Virtua Memorial Hospital Burlington County, and served as its first section chief of nephrology. Some photos have also been exhibited at Epcot Centers Journey Into Imagination Pavilion, which features The Worlds Outstanding Photography. An active participant in the projects of Henry Flagler to transform St. Augustine into a mecca for Northern tourists, his writings expressed concern that the pristine environment and its inhabitants were already threatened. I have been working on wetland restoration and creation for several years now in Massachusetts. Wetland restoration/creation activities are a very much debated activity in the U.S., in terms of evaluating their success and even in defining what parameters should be measured to determine success. In my opinion, wetland restoration/creation, as a planned activity, is a young scienceand very interesting! I have thoroughly enjoyed monitoring my new wetlands over the past years and watching them evolve. It will be interesting to see how the Arboretum wetland evolves. I look forward to visiting it soon. Wolfe Video released it in August on DVD and VHS. In between changing diapers, Helen and Valerie are currently in post-production for their second film, Inescapable. This makes for an incredible story, with a happy ending (so far), and he is currently working on a book covering this dramatic episode in his life.
