Bagpipes and Bono

Commencement | Singer, songwriter, and social activist Bono will speak at Commencement on May 17. Bono is lead singer of the Irish rock band U2, which has won seven Grammy awards and sold more than 100 million albums. He also co-founded Debt Aids Trade Africa, which pushes for more money and better policies to deal with AIDS and poverty in Africa. He will receive an honorary Doctor of Laws degree.
