A Healthy Rank
for Penn Medicine

Penn’s School of Medicine ranks third in the nation among research-oriented medical schools, according to U.S. News and World Report, using criteria that include faculty resources, quality assessment, and student selectivity.

Last year the school came in fourth in the same category. “We are proud to continue our ongoing commitment to national leadership and medical education, patient care and research,” said Dean Arthur Rubenstein.

In the 2006 survey of the best graduate schools, which hit newsstands April 3, Penn’s med school also ranked in the top 10 for specialty programs, including internal medicine, drug/alcohol abuse, women’s health, and pediatrics.
