Marketing Professor
Pleads Guilty

Dr. Scott Ward, emeritus professor of marketing, pled guilty in February to charges of producing child pornography for importation into the United States. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 11; the charge carries a minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of 30.

Ward was arrested in August at Dulles International Airport after customs agents discovered child pornography on his computer [“Gazetteer,” Nov|Dec]. A search of Ward’s Huntsman Hall office also turned up DVDs containing movies of Ward engaging in sexual intercourse with a minor boy. After the arrest, President Amy Gutmann announced that Ward would no longer teach at Penn.

In addition, Ward still faces charges in a Pennsylvania federal court.
