Portland, Ore. Our Annual Summer Lawn Party and Class of 2015 Send Off Event will be in late July or early August at the home of one of our alumni members; please check our website www.pennclubofportland.org for time and details. In June, the Club once again presented book awards to deserving students, who are moving into their senior year at four local high schools; book-award recipients from this and previous years can be viewed on our website.

San Antonio. To keep updated on Penn alumni activities in San Antonio, we send periodic newsgrams to our email listserv. PAARC | The Penn Alumni Admissions Resource Center—formerly the Alumni Council on Admissions—provides resources and professional insight to alumni families with children or grandchildren as early as 7th grade, focusing on what it takes to become competitive in the Penn application process. Penn Alumni has nominated two candidates to fill two alumni
trustee positions for five-year terms starting January 1, 2012.


Osagie Imasogie GL’85 has over 28 years of experience in the fields of law, finance and business management, healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry.  Prior to co-founding Phoenix IP Ventures, an IP based Merchant Bank, Osagie conceptualized and established GlaxoSmithKline Ventures and was its founding Vice President.

Osagie led GSK Ventures in concluding over 30 worldwide transactions, within a three-year period, in which he invested various GSK R&D non-progressed assets into various companies and/or as the basis of starting new companies.

Most recently, Osagie was a co-Founder and former President, CEO and Chairman of Ception Therapeutics. Inc., a biopharmaceutical company that was recently sold to a publicly traded company. Osagie was also the Founder of Trigenesis Therapeutics Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing pharmaceutical products for the dermatological market, which he also sold to a publicly traded pharmaceutical company. Osagie is the Chairman of Iroko Pharmaceuticals and the Advisory Board of Quoin Capital, LLC.

Osagie, a former Corporate Finance Partner in Price Waterhouse, holds post-graduate degrees from the London School of Economics and the University of Pennsylvania Law School and is a member of the New York State Bar. In addition, Osagie has served as the I Grant Irey Adjunct Professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he has taught, since 2004, a seminar on “Intellectual Property and National Economic Value Creation.”

Ann Nolan Reese, CW’74 is a co-founder and executive director of the Center for Adoption Policy (CAP), whose goal is to remove legal, structural and policy barriers to adoption. CAP provides research, analysis, advice and education to practitioners and the public about current legislation and practices governing domestic and inter-country adoption.  

Ann is also a director of Sears Holdings and Xerox, chairs the Board of Overseers at the School of Social Policy and Practice at the University of Pennsylvania, and is a Trustee of Rye Country Day School.

Prior to CAP’s formation in 2001, Ann spent over 25 years in a career in finance. Formerly the Chief Financial Officer of ITT, she also worked at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, Mobil Oil, Union Carbide, and Bankers Trust. She has an MBA from New York University (1982) and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania (1974).
Alumni may file other nominations until August 31, 2011; these nominations must be accompanied by a petition signed by no less than 1500 degree-holding alumni.
