Swift Sloop
First Beau Geste, the 49-foot yacht owned and skippered by Hong Kong businessman Karl Kwok, WG'73, led China to its first victory in a major, international ocean-racing teams series -- Australia's Southern Cross Cup. Then it won the Squadron Cup in Auckland, New Zealand. Last month, Kwok was scheduled to compete on one of the American teams for the Kenwood Cup in Honolulu, and this month he heads to San Francisco for the Big Boat Series. When he's not on the seas, Kwok keeps busy as chairman of Wing On International Holdings Limited, a trading company that owns one of the largest department store chains in Hong Kong.
