Berczely was born in Argentina 43 years ago. He obtained a Bachelor in Business in 1982 at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina and his MBA at IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland.

He worked for 12 years with a multinational shipping company until 1989. As an entrepreneur, he started 4 companies in Chile in the Mining, Paper, Textile and Consulting businesses, which are today important players in their fields.

Dean Berczely sits on the Board of Directors of 8 companies in Chile, Argentina and Bolivia.

He joined the Adolfo lbanez Business School in 1987 as a part-time professor. In 1992, he took over as Director of the MBA program, and after a successful positioning of said program as a leading Executive MBA in Chile with 500 students per year, he was appointed Dean of the Business School in March, 1996.
