Geoffrey M. Cox is Vice Provost and Dean for Institutional Planning and Operations at Stanford University. In this role, he oversees a wide range of functions, including Foundation Relations, Institutional Research, Facilities Planning and Management, and various support services. He has played a role in several significant projects at Stanford, including the establishment of Stanford Health Services, the President's Commission on Undergraduate Education, and the Commission on Technology in Teaching and Learning. Prior to coming to Stanford in 1992, he was Budget Director and Associate Provost at the University of Chicago. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Chicago and an undergraduate degree from Knox College in Illinois.
