Michael Eleey oversees central efforts in academic computing; end-user communications; and technical assistance, training, and support for departments, end users, and campus computing professionals. He is involved in classroom technology and residential networking support initiatives; various projects on electronic communication and collaboration for teaching and research; and the development of Penn's WWW site. He is also active in identifying and implementing new technologies essential to the academic mission; promoting faculty innovation and experimental use of information technologies; and advising on distance-learning initiatives.

Now in his fourth term as chair of the Policy Board of WXPN, Penn's nationally recognized public radio station, Eleey also participates in community efforts to extend the use of technology in K-12 education. He holds an M.A. in communications from Penn's Annenberg School and an M.B.A. with distinction from the Wharton School.
