John Etchemendy

Associate Dean for the Humanities

John Etchemendy is currently Associate Dean for the Humanities in Stanford's School of Humanities and Sciences. He is also the Chair of Stanford's Commission on Technology in Teaching and Learning and a professor in the Department of Philosophy. He is the author or coauthor of six books and numerous articles in logic and has developed three best-selling software packages for teaching topics in logic and computer science. He received his Ph.D. in 1982 from Stanford and taught at Princeton for two years before returning to Stanford.
