Tilman Kuechler received his Ph.D. in comparative literature from the University of Washington, Seattle. Before joining the Center for Development of Higher Education, a division of the Bertelsmann Foundation in Guetersloh, Germany, he worked as an associate for the German Science Council. Currently he is dealing with issues of evaluation and quality assurance in German universities, as well as with questions concerning the structural reform of the German higher education system.
