In January of 1995 Anne Margulies was appointed Assistant Provost and Executive Director for Information Systems responsible for both Project ADAPT and University Information Systems.

From 1993-1995 she served as director of the ADP (Administrative Data Project, now known as Project ADAPT), a collaborative, University-wide initiative to integrate and streamline administrative processes, improve the quality of data, and replace aging core systems. During the same time period she also served as deputy administrator in the Office of the Vice President for Administration, working on strategic planning, budget preparation and analysis, and special projects. Prior to this, Anne served as the Project Director for the University Network Project, a $30 million effort over a five-year period to acquire, design, and implement a university telephone system and campus wiring network. Before coming to Harvard in 1986, Anne was a Senior Account Manager in the higher education sector for AT&T.
