Kathleen McCauley PhD, RN, CS, FAAN is an Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Nursing at the School of Nursing and a Clinical Specialist in Cardiology at the Hospital of the Univesity of Pennsylvania. She serves as the Course Director for N 370/371, Advanced Clinical Practicum in Nursing, the senior level undergraduate leadership clinical course in the Nursing School. She is the co-chairperson of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and is the liaison to the Wharton School in the development of the Joint Degree program in Nursing and Health Care Management. Her research interests include transitional care models using advanced practice nurses to improve the care of high risk elders, as well as development of models to improve care of families of critically ill patients. She has served on the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research panel that developed clinical practice guidelines for Management of Unstable Angina and currently serves on an American Heart Association panel charged with designing a secondary prevention program for ischemic heart disease and stroke.
