Paul Mosher Vice Provost Paul Mosher is Vice Provost and Director of Libraries at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is also an adjunct professor of History. Before coming to Penn in 1988, Dr. Mosher held senior administrative positions at the Stanford University Library, including Deputy Director (1985-88), Director for Research (1984-85), Director for Collection Development (1979-84 ), and Assistant Director for Collection Development (1975-79). During his tenure at Stanford, he was also a lecturer in the Religious Studies Department. Dr. Mosher was on the faculty of Trinity College (Hartford)/Rome Campus (1971-73) and the University of Washington (1966-75). He holds a Bachelor's degree from Portland State University (1961) and a Master's (1962) and Ph.D. (1969) from the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Mosher chairs the Board of the Research Libraries Group (RLG), a consortium of academic research and special libraries with affiliates in North America, Great Britain, and Europe. He has served extensively on special committees of RLG, the American Library Association, and the Association of Research Libraries. He has also participated in senior computing and academic information planning bodies at Penn. A frequent advisor to libraries and foundations in the United States and abroad, Dr. Mosher has lectured and published widely on a range of topics, including library automation, resource sharing, and collection development and management. |
