James J. O'Donnell is Professor of Classical Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also serves as Vice Provost for Information Systems and Computing and as Faculty Master of Hill College House. A Penn faculty member since 1981, O'Donnell has published extensively in the cultural history of the late antique Mediterranean world. He has also been an innovator in the use of networked electronic technologies for scholarly publishing, research, and teaching.
