Carl N. Tyson, President and Chief Operating Officer of UOL Publishing, received B.A. and M.A. degrees in History from Wichita State University and earned a Ph.D. in History from Oklahoma State University. In l977 he joined Scott, Foresman and Company's College Division as a salesperson. In l984 he became Vice President of Sales and Marketing; he moved to a similar position with McGraw-Hill's College Division in l988. In l989 he became President of McGraw-Hill College. In l992 he became President of Harcourt Brace College Publishers. He joined UOL Publishing in November, l995.
