Just after 2 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, a student was powering through an all-nighter. At 11:53 p.m. that day, students in a dance ensemble were finishing up rehearsal in preparation for an upcoming performance.
In between those bookend events, Penn's campus buzzed with activity. Students buckled down for an afternoon quiz in an Engineering Entrepreneurship class. A WXPN host prepared for her midday radio show. The University's 2013 MacArthur Fellow was interviewed on camera about her research. A conservator worked to restore an ancient Egyptian sarcophagus.
The lively and dynamic energy in classrooms, libraries, dining halls, and sports fields across campus was captured in the third iteration of the University-wide photo project, "A Day in the Life of Penn." The endeavor, led by the Office of University Communications, tapped student, faculty, and staff photographers to document all aspects of campus life from sunrise to well after sunset on one bright fall day: Oct. 29, 2013.
