About Us

The Huntsman Program is an integrated undergraduate program in business, language and liberal arts of the School of Arts and Sciences and the Wharton School. It is a select group of students from diverse backgrounds, all with a common goal: a dynamic professional education and an understanding of the global economic, political and social changes that impact how business is conducted. It is also faculty, staff, alumni, and advisory boards -- all committed to the success of this unique educational experience.

In January 1997, Jon M. Huntsman (Wharton'59), founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Huntsman Chemical Corporation, endowed the Program. "Globalization is the single most dramatic change factor affecting business," Mr. Huntsman said in presenting the gift. "I am proud to endow a program that is the first to fully integrate comprehensive international studies into a business curriculum in order to prepare graduates to work anywhere."

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

A number of people provide direction for and management of the Huntsman Program:

  • Faculty Directors
  • Staff
  • External Advisory Board
  • Student Board

Two faculty directors are charged with the responsibility for the Program. A staff of three manages day to day operations and also provides advice to Huntsman students on such things as how to meet requirements, study abroad, etc.

An External Advisory Board, consisting of senior level professionals, primarily from the business community from throughout the world, provides advice and assistance to the Program.

A Student Board, elected by its peers, serves as a link between Huntsman students and the Program. In addition to working with the directors, the Student Board conducts information sessions and panel discussions, organizes special events, serves as peer advisors, and works hard to generate a community spirit.
