Alumni
The number of Huntsman alumni is still relatively small. The first
class graduated in May 1998, and there are now 346 Huntsman alumni taking
on the world.
Doing Graduate Work
Although a number of Huntsman alumni are considering graduate study,
most have deferred their admission to professional schools or doctoral
programs to work for a few years. However:
- five Huntsman graduates have been awarded Fulbright Fellowships
- 3 to study in Mexico, 1 to study in Peru, and 1 to study in Mali;
- two Huntsman graduates have won Thouron Fellowships to study in
England;
- three Huntsman alums have won Marshall Scholarships to study in the UK;
- one Huntsman alum is currently in medical school;
- one earned a masters degree from the Judge Institute at Cambridge;
- several Huntsman students sub-matriculated into the Wharton MBA
Program, graduating in 5 years with a Bachelor of Arts in International
Studies from the School of Arts and Sciences and a Bachelor of Science
in Economics as well as a Masters in Business Administration from
the Wharton School;
- several are doing graduate study in the United States and Europe
in a variety of subjects such as business, European studies, law,
political science, and public policy.
Working in the World
Most Huntsman alumni are currently working in one of the following
fields:
- Financial Analysis
- Investment Banking
- Management (General)
- Management (Consulting)
- Marketing
- Money Management
- Securities and Currency Trading
Where in the World
The majority of Huntsman alumni are working in the United States for
consulting firms, dot.com companies, investment banks, and large companies.
However, some Huntsman alumni are also working, either full-time or
special assignment, for global firms around the world:
- Asia (Hong Kong, Beijing, Japan, Singapore and Korea)
- Europe (England, Germany, Spain , and Turkey)
- Latin America (Brazil, Chile and Colombia)
Several Huntsman alumni have taken less traditional paths, teaching
for AmeriCore or doing community service fellowships. One even reports
that she was able to use her language proficiency while serving on a
ship in the Mediterranean as an ensign in the United States Navy, having
graduated from Naval R. O. T. C. at Penn.
