ISC helps facilitate, coordinate and provide secure, optimal IT-related capabilities/alternatives (in-house and external) to the Penn Community, from a portfolio of trusted vendors, that leverage the advantages of Cloud Computing (scalable, elastic, shared, metered by use and accessible through the internet) and the power of the Penn Community to get the most favorable rates, products and services. Cloud services fall into the following defined set of categories: Compute/Processing/High performance computing, Storage, Collaboration/Communication/Office/Productivity, Platform Services and Single purpose solutions.
Cloud Brokering and Consulting Service: ISC proactively manages the portfolio of trusted vendors by developing relationships and negotiating enterprise-wide agreements with leading cloud-computing providers. Individuals and organizations working with Penn data are encouraged to use providers with whom Penn has negotiated agreements. ISC also provides expertise to individuals, departments, and Schools exploring these rapidly evolving and highly flexible cloud-based computing options.
