Connecting to the Internet
ISC provides high-bandwidth, high-availability wired and wireless network connectivity to the Internet, Internet2 and other online services via PennNet, the University’s data network. ISC also offers custom network design solutions to support the Penn’s research community.
Wired Access: ISC provides three network connection speeds and also designs custom networks for high-performance research computing.
Wireless Access:
- AirPennNet: For campus-wide wireless access permits secure, encrypted and convenient access.
- AirPennNet-Guest: Provides wireless access for visitors to Penn.
- AirPennNet-Help: To configure your device, allowing it to work seamlessly on AirPennNet.

PennKey and Password: ISC developed and manages the Universitfy’s PennKey authentication system. A PennKey (username) and associated password are required verify an individual’s identity to many of Penn’s online systems and services. Faculty, staff, students, UPHS employees, and sponsored guests are eligible for PennKeys.
PennConnect DVD: ISC’s PennConnect DVD-ROM contains the recommended networking and antivirus software for students, staff, and faculty.
Moving, Wiring, Construction Consulting: ISC provides consulting and project management services to assist clients with the design and installation of all infrastructure related to data, voice, and video projects on Penn’s campus.
