Transfer Applications

For the first time, the LSM program will be accepting internal transfer applications.

Only current full-time Penn students may apply to transfer into LSM; students must apply for the transfer at the end of their freshman year.

The academic requirements for transfer admission, which must be completed by the conclusion of the applicant's freshman year, are:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.4
  • MATH 104
  • ECON 001 or ECON 010
  • Two semesters of science course work (at the 100-level or higher) in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics; or one semester of science course work plus other evidence of a commitment to science (extracurricular lab research, etc.)


    To apply, the following application materials are required:

  • LSM Transfer Application Form
  • Penn's Dual Degree Application Form
  • An unoffical Penn transcript (from Penn InTouch)
  • Two letters of recommendation, at least one of which must be from a Penn faculty member

All application materials, including the letters of recommendation, but be submitted to the LSM program office in room 106 of Steinberg Hall-Dietrich Hall by May 1.
