Academic & Career Resources
Academically Based Community Service Courses - Supported by Penn’s Center for Community Partnerships, Academically Based Community Service (ABCS) courses involve hands-on, real-world problem solving and help students become active, participating citizens in the city neighborhoods that border Penn. Through their work with West Philadelphia public schools and other community organizations, students work to address critical urban problems, including health issues such as tobacco use, childhood nutrition, lead poisoning, and other environmental dangers.
Career Services - Career Services helps students and alumni define their career goals and take the steps necessary to achieve them.
Communication within the Curriculum - CWiC is a University of Pennsylvania program that supports student speaking as a means of both communicating and learning. CWiC works with students to help them improve their speaking abilities and with faculty to help them integrate student speaking into their teaching in order to achieve their educational goals.
Counseling and Psychological Services - Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides assistance to students on a wide range of issues. In addition to individual and group counseling, medical consultation, and crisis intervention, CAPS offers career assessment tools like the Myers-Briggs Inventory, and can help students deal with the personal and family-related stresses that can accompany academic work and career decision-making.
Graduate/Undergraduate Mentoring Program - The Graduate/Undergraduate Mentoring Program, which pairs undergraduate students with Penn graduate and professional students, is designed to help undergraduates learn first-hand about preparing for, applying to, and succeeding in graduate school.
Joseph Wharton Scholars Society - Founded in 1988, the Joseph Wharton Scholars Program is a community of outstanding Wharton undergraduates who have agreed to be part of a program that emphasizes the importance of scholarly research and the liberal arts and sciences within the framework of a business education.
Office of Learning Resources - The Office of Learning Resources provides professional consultation services in university relevant skills such as academic reading, writing, study strategies, and time management to the Penn community.
Quaker Consortium - Penn has a unique, reciprocal relationship with Bryn Mawr, Haverford and Swarthmore Colleges which allows Penn students to take courses at these three institutions.
Reach-A-Peer Helpline - A peer support telephone service established that provides information, peer support and referrals. The Line can be used by students in dealing with academic stress or particular emotional issues affecting their academic or personal life. It is a confidential, anonymous, and free phone service. Student active listeners can provide callers with their objective, undivided attention.
Tutoring Center - The Tutoring Center offers Penn students a variety of options to supplement their academic experience. Tutorials are offered in several formats; individual sessions at satellite Tutoring Center locations, private tutorials, student-led workshops, and review sessions.
Weigle Information Commons - The Commons supports study groups and collaborative learning and offers training, equipment and support for digital media. There are also services and support for students as they work to improve their effectiveness in writing, speaking and original inquiry.
Wharton Entrepreneurial Programs - Whether you plan to run your own business, innovate within a larger organization or provide services to entrepreneurs, Wharton Entrepreneurial Programs offers a range of extra-curricular learning opportunities and support.
The Wheel - The WHEEL is the name given to a group of support programs in math, writing, technology, library skills, languages, chemistry, career services and more. The Wheel delivers support around the clock and where students need it most — at home, in the College Houses.

Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity - Welcome to the Epsilon Rho chapter of the Alpha Kappa Psi, the premier professional fraternity at the University of Pennsylvania! The sixty brothers in our chapter, united by our interest in business, hail from all corners of the world and boast all sorts of different backgrounds. Together, we organize and participate in professional, community service, and social events, and we develop relationships that truly last a lifetime. American Medical Student Association - AMSA is a national organization comprised of pre-medical students, medical students, and physicians. Penn's AMSA chapter serves undergraduate pre-medical students in many ways. We are highly dedicated to helping pre-medical students get involved in community service, research, and other extracurricular activities. We also guide pre-medical students with course selection and applying to medical schools. AMSA hosts a variety of events, such as panels on medical specialties, a physician shadowing program, peer mentoring, and socials or other outings related to careers in medicine.
Biological Basis of Behavior Society - The Undergraduate BBB Society is an organization for all Penn students who are interested in the study of psychology, biology, and neuroscience. Its aim is to inform students of ongoing features and programs relating to the biological basis of behavior, to stimulate the intellectual capacities of students, to encourage social and academic relations between students and faculty members as well as communication between students, and to provide advising in course selection.

Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity - Devoted to promoting excellence and achievement within the field of business, Delta Sigma Pi also facilitates social activity among students, the community, and other organizations. The network of Brothers worldwide provides a wealth of business resources, professional contacts, continuing education, and community support to even the youngest members.
John Morgan Pre-Health Society - The John Morgan Pre-Health Society is an organization designed to meet the needs of students interested in the various health professions such as medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine.
Kite and Key Society - The Kite and Key Society is the oldest and largest service organization at the University of Pennsylvania. With over 400 members, the Society has several community service opportunities including Ronald McDonald House, Penntoring, Step-One Tutoring, and Special Projects.
Penn Bioethics Society - PBS is a group of undergraduate students that aims to promote awareness of ethical, social, medical, and legal issues brought about by increased knowledge in science and technology.
Penn Biotech Group - PBG is a student-run, cross-disciplinary club based at the University of Pennsylvania with the mission of promoting education and awareness regarding the many facets of biotechnology, including science, business, law, and medicine.
Penn International Business Volunteers - Penn International Business Volunteers (PIBV) is a non-profit, student-run organization that promotes awareness of the need to use business skills to benefit those in need throughout the world.
Penn Women’s Biomedical Society - The mission of Penn Women’s Biomedical Society is to provide undergraduates with information and opportunities pertaining to graduate schools and careers in the biomedical field. PWBS strives to bring together a diverse group of women to (a) promote high academic achievement in science, (b) serve as positive mentors to young girls in the community, and (c) engage in science-related educational activities.
Phi Gamma Nu Business Fraternity - Phi Gamma Nu comprises of a diverse group of brothers who share a common interest in business and professional success. Our goal is to foster the study of business in the university, while engaging in community outreach and developing strong bonds of brotherhood and friendship.
Undergraduate Economics Society – We are a group of students at the University of Pennsylvania who share a common interest in Economics and seek to provide education, service, and awareness to others. Wharton Accounting Society - Provide the Penn undergraduate community ample opportunities for learning, exposure, and networking with accounting firms and professionals to lay a solid foundation to their future careers.
Wharton Management Club - One of the Wharton Five, the Wharton Management Club is one of the fastest growing clubs in Wharton. Its mission is to expose the undergraduate community to opportunities available within the field of management, both in and out of the classroom. To do so, the club hosts speakers, professional networking sessions, professor luncheons, experiential learning activities, and other events.
Wharton Technology Club - The Wharton Technology Club is one of Wharton’s premier, student-run professional clubs, designed to help students network within the high-tech, e-commerce, biotech, and related industries and explore the various career options that exist within areas such as corporate finance, marketing, product management, business development, and venture capital.
Wharton Women - Wharton Women facilitates the personal and career development of females in business by building a network of exceptional undergraduates, professionals, and faculty.
