All Family Events are scheduled for the afternoons of Wednesday, August 29 and Thursday, August 30. After that time, students will be very busy with orientation events, so parents are strongly encouraged to depart Thursday evening to allow students to adjust to their new surroundings.

Below you will find our tentative schedule of events.

Wednesday, August 29: Early Move-In

Staff from New Student Orientation and the Penn Parents Program will be available to answer your questions.
Library Tour & Reception
12pm and 1:30pm
Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center, Meyerson Conference Center, 2nd Floor

Meet staff of the Van Pelt Library and take a brief but valuable tour. You will get an overview of the Library's resources and learn how to best make use of the Library's services. This tour is guaranteed to make you feel at home in the library and give you the information you need to utilize their many resources.

Highball to Hey Day: The Penn Experience
4pm-5pm
Irvine Auditorium

Join us for an entertaining look at Penn's illustrious past, revered traditions, and your role in Penn's exciting future through this interactive, multimedia presentation featuring Ron Daniels, University Provost, and Mark Frazier Lloyd, Director of University Archives and Records Center. All participants receive a free Class of 2011 t-shirt. Reception to follow.

This question and answer session is for parents interested in Asian, Black, Latino, Native American, and multiracial students' experiences and resources at Penn. Refreshments will be served.

Meet the Dean and undergraduate chairs, and learn about various majors, interdisciplinary programs, and new areas of study.

Privacy and Credit Education for
Penn Students

Join representatives from Penn, the Student Federal Credit Union, PNC Bank, and Bank of America for a discussion on protecting privacy, preventing identity theft, managing your money, and building a healthy financial future. This session is designed primarily for students.

Join our distinguished Penn panelists to learn about College Houses, safety, finances, and much more in this interactive session. These Penn experts will provide an overview of these relevant issues and answer your questions. This session is primarily designed for parents.

President & Provost's Welcome and Reception

President Amy Gutmann and Provost Ronald Daniels welcome Penn families from the steps of College Hall. A reception on Wynn Commons in Perelman Quad (behind College Hall) is held immediately afterward, where families can speak with the President and Provost, Penn faculty and staff, and representatives from the Penn Parents Program.
