Suggestions: What to Bring
Move-In Logistics & Parking
Each room is equipped with one bed,
desk, desk chair, and dresser. Room layouts are available here.
It is a good idea to check with your roommate(s) to coordinate what
each of you will be bringing. You may find the recommendations below helpful
in planning your move to campus. The list consists of suggestions based on past students' packing plans, but it should not be considered a comprehensive list of your personal packing needs. Many of these items may be available for purchase on-campus and in the greater Philadelphia area, but we recommend you pack your trains, planes, and automobiles as full as possible with these high-demand items. Be sure to consult our checklist for more items that cannot be left behind!

between 9am and 5pm. Early Move-In is available at an additional charge

of the items you will need are available on campus at the Penn
Bookstore. Also, Housing
and Conference Services partners with an outside company to offer MicroFridge
and refrigerator rentals. Refer to the Residence Policy specific to your College House for more information on bringing your own electric appliances. Click here for directions to local stores where you'll be able to pick up all the
essentials for dorm life.
When you move in, members of the College House Computing staff will be there to help you with setting up your computer and making sure you have the latest in virus and spyware protection on your computer. More information about computing can be found on our Computing page.
Because of Move-In traffic and normal
street congestion on-campus, access to the College Houses will be for
unloading only. Families can take advantage of free, day-long parking
at campus lots as soon as they've unloaded. Free
parking will be available at four campus locations for the two days
of Freshman Move-In (Wednesday, August 27 and Thursday, August 28). Students can obtain
temporary unloading permits, parent and family guest passes, and directions to permanent
parking lots online now at Campus Express.
