Wednesday, August 27
Transfer Student Welcome Center 11am-1pm 1st Floor Lobby, Houston Hall at 3417 Spruce Street	Stop by our table to let us know that you have arrived on campus. Meet the PHINS, pick up orientation materials, and sign up for various events. This table will be located near the Student Services Expo where you can take care of all your needs through Campus Express.
Transfer Welcome Session 1pm-2pm Room 17, Cohen Hall at 249 South 36th Street	Introduction to Transfer Orientation. Topics to be discussed include the week's schedule, advising overview, safety, and campus activities.
Transfer Credit Advising 2pm-2:30pm Room 17, Cohen Hall	This general advising session is led by the Director of Transfer Credit, Mark Shank. It will provide you with guidelines and information which will assist you before meeting with your academic advisor.
Parent and Family Orientation 2pm-3:30pm Class of 1949 Auditorium, Houston Hall	Current students who also transferred to Penn will make a brief presentation followed by a question and answer session. Light refreshments will be served.
The College Advising Session 2:30pm-3:30pm Room 17, Cohen Hall	Diane Frey, the Transfer Student Advocate, will lead a discussion on the College's policies, procedures, degree requirements, and curricular options. This session is required for incoming transfer students to the College.
From Highball to Hey Day 4pm-5pm Hall of Flags, Houston Hall	Join us for an entertaining look at Penn's history and traditions, as well as your role in Penn's exciting future through this interactive presentation. Parents welcome! A repeat performance is given for students only on Sunday, August 31, 10am.
Transfer Student Dinner 6:30pm-8:30pm Hall of Flags, Houston Hall	Come meet your fellow transfer students, the PHINS, and staff. Dinner will be catered by Rx (a West Philly restaurant owned by a former Penn Transfer student).
Thursday, August 28
Academic Advising for the College 9am-5pm The College Office Room 120, Cohen Hall	The Academic Advisors in the College will be available to meet transfer students and help plan their first semester schedules. You can call ahead to schedule a meeting with your particular advisor, or stop by the office when you get a chance to do a walk-in consultation.
Orientation for the School of Engineering 10am-12pm Room 108, Towne Building at 220 South 33rd Street	At this session, the procedures for transferring credits and setting up email accounts will be covered. You also have the opportunity to meet representatives from your department to discuss requirements and course selection.

Guided Tour and Lunch Break 12pm-2pm 1st Floor Lobby, Houston Hall	Led by the PHINS, this tour gives you the "real scoop" on Penn. Meet at the Welcome Center on the first floor of Houston Hall. The PHINS then take you on a tour of important facilities and buildings, help you find the best and cheapest places to grab a bite to eat, and answer any questions you might have about your classes, social life, or campus activities. The tour ends at Van Pelt Library where you may choose to join their guided tour.
Nursing Transfer Student Orientation 2pm-4pm Room 113B, Claire M. Fagin Hall	Meet your fellow Nursing transfer students and peer advisor and participate in a group tour/activity with your peer advisor!
Van Pelt Library Tour 2pm-2:30pm Main Entrance, Van Pelt Library	Meet the staff of the Van Pelt Library as they give you a brief but valuable tour. You will get an overview of the Library's resources and learn how to best make use of its services. This tour is guaranteed to make you feel at home in the Library and give you the information you need to utilize its many resources.
Academic Advising for Wharton Transfer Students 3pm-4pm Room F45 Jon M. Huntsman Hall	This session will help Wharton transfer students with concerns such as course evaluation for prior credits, course registration (while transfer credit is still pending), and overall acclimation to Penn. Wharton Undergraduate staff members will facilitate the orientation session and review curricular requirements.
College House Activities 7pm-10pm	All new students in the College Houses are required to attend informative sessions with their College House staff. Check with your House Dean, Resident Advisor or Graduate Advisor for your exact schedule.
Bowling Party at Strikes 10pm-11:30pm Strikes Bowling Lounge 4040 Locust Street	Meet up with your fellow transfer students for some bowling fun at a popular Penn hangout spot! Free snacks and bowling lanes are provided. Penn ID required for the party.
Friday, August 29
Need-to-Know Information Session 12pm-1pm Hall of Flags, Houston Hall	Former transfer students highlight the most frequently used features of Penn's websites. Get an overview of the PennPortal, manage classes and credits with Penn InTouch, Blackboard and WebCafe, add PennCash to your PennCard and choose a Meal Plan. You'll also learn more about life in Philadelphia, including transportation options and where to find the necessities of college living, from groceries to notebooks, to a bean bag chair.
Explore Philadelphia 1pm-4pm Meet in the 1st Floor Lobby of Houston Hall	Choose one of Philly's great neighborhoods to explore. Whether it's South Street, Rittenhouse Square, West Philly, or historic Old City, the PHINS will show you the way. Find out more and sign up in advance at the Welcome Center.
Small Group Dinners 7pm Meet in the 1st Floor Lobby of Houston Hall	This is a great opportunity to venture into Philadelphia while meeting fellow transfer students and enjoying tasty food. Sign up at the Welcome Center in advance.
Saturday, August 30
Transfer Student Picnic 1pm-3pm College Green Blanche P. Levy Park (Rain Location: Bodek Lounge, Houston Hall)	Take a break and relax over the weekend. Food and fun will be provided. Rain Location: Bodek Lounge, Houston Hall.
An Evening at the Philadelphia Museum of Art 5:30pm-9:30pm Meet at 40th & Locust streets at 5:30pm to take a shuttle	Join transfer students and all of Penn's new students for an evening at one of the world's greatest art museums. See the steps where Rocky made his famous sprint and take in spectacular views of the Philadelphia skyline. The Museum is open for new Penn students only, so don't miss out on this great event. Monday, September 1
College House Activities 9am-9pm	All residents are invited to attend various College House events. Check with your House Dean, Resident Advisor (RA) or Graduate Associate (GA) for details.

Student Organization Fair 12pm-4pm Locust Walk and Annenberg Plaza	Get information from over 400 student groups and resource centers.
Convocation 7pm-8:15pm College Green Blanche P. Levy Park	This symbolic opening of the academic year includes addresses by University President Amy Gutmann and signifies the formal induction of the new class and all incoming transfer students into the Penn community.
President and Provost's Dessert Reception 8:15pm-9:30pm Wynn Commons and Houston Hall	Join the President and Provost as they host a sumptuous dessert reception for new students. Faculty, staff, and student leaders will be there to greet you.
Wednesday, September 3
First Day of Classes!	Now that Orientation has drawn to a close, don't forget that it's time for classes to start!
Saturday, September 6
Performing Arts Night 7pm Zellerbach Theatre of the Annenberg Center	Don't miss this opportunity to see all the member organizations of the Performing Arts Council and find out how you can be involved in dance, theatre, vocal ensembles, music ensembles, a cappella, comedy and spoken word. Transfer Brunch 11am-1pm Bodek Room, Houston Hall	Enjoy brunch as you compare notes on your first week of classes. PHINS and members of the Class Boards will be available to answer any questions.
