Elizabeth R. Salasko left private practice in 1999 to become the University's first full-time tax and benefits attorney. Her practice with the University and Penn Medicine has expanded to include the areas of development and athletics. Ms. Salasko was previously partner and chair of the tax and exempt organizations group at the Princeton law firm of Smith, Stratton, Wise, Heher & Brennan. Prior to earning her law degree, she was a Certified Public Accountant in the Washington, DC office of an international public accounting firm.
Ms. Salasko graduated from the College of William and Mary (B.B.A., 1979) and the University of Virginia School of Law (J.D., 1984). She is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) and is active in its Committee on Legal Education. Ms. Salasko is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the United States Tax Court. Ms. Salasko has written many articles for professional publications and is a frequent speaker at legal education conferences. She is a previous winner of the American Bar Association Excellence in Writing Award for Best Cutting Edge Article.
