Robert R. Terrell has served as Associate General Counsel for the University since 1993. His practice focuses on research, intellectual property and faculty matters, as well as University initiatives involving use of the Internet and other emerging technologies. He serves on the University's Faculty Conflict of Interest Committee and the Radiation Safety Committee. Mr. Terrell came to Penn from the Boston law firm of Hill and Barlow, where he handled a wide variety of litigation matters.

Mr. Terrell attended Harvard College (A.B., cum laude, 1979) and received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D., magna cum laude, 1986). After law school, he clerked for the Honorable Herbert Wilkins of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. Mr. Terrell also holds a master's degree from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government (M.P.P., 1983). He is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
