In addition to content tutoring, Tutoring and Learning Resources provides free professional consultation and instruction for academic reading, writing, time management and study strategies for Penn undergraduate, graduate and professional students. Individual instruction is provided by appointment and during walk-in hours, Monday through Friday from noon until 3:00 PM. Group instruction is available through several workshops series. Workshops can also be arranged by faculty, student groups or in the residences. In addition, Learning Resources produces self-help pamphlets and numerous handouts and maintains an on-line resource at http://www.vpul.upenn.edu/lrc/lr/index.html.

The learning instructors can work with students on time management, exam preparation and test taking strategies to help prevent instances of misconduct or after a student has been involved in a violation of academic integrity. Instruction is also available for students who would like to develop their writing and research skills. A workshop, Web Citings, aims to counter Internet plagiarism. It provides information on how to evaluate websites and the information taken from them. Standards for in-text and bibliography citations are also discussed.
