Bank of America Charitable Foundation supports institutions that anchor their communities, promoting economic activity, creating jobs and attracting and retaining residents. These institutions, integral to the health and sustainability of our communities, include major stakeholders such as hospitals, colleges and universities, and cultural facilities. Their impact across large populations makes them a vital component in promoting stabilizing and developing neighborhoods. By the end of 2006, Bank of America had more than $36 million in commitments to anchor institutions.

Lincoln Institute of Land Policy conducts research and policy evaluations, holds conferences, provides education and training, supports demonstration projects, and publishes books and reports on policy issues relating to land. The Institute seeks to improve the quality of public debate and decisions in the use, regulation, and taxation of land by integrating theory and practice, and providing a nonpartisan forum for the discussion of related issues. The Institute serves as a catalyst to facilitate analysis and discussion of land use and taxation issues — to make a difference today, and to help policy makers plan for tomorrow.

The Rockefeller Foundation was established in 1913 by John D. Rockefeller, Sr., to "promote the well-being" of humanity by addressing the root causes of serious problems. The Foundation works around the world to expand opportunities for poor or vulnerable people and to help ensure that globalization’s benefits are more widely shared. With assets of more than $3.5 billion, it is one of the few institutions to conduct such work both within the United States and internationally.

Knight Foundation’s twin missions are to seed and inspire great journalism everywhere, and to build strong communities in the cities and towns where our founders ran newspapers. As a national foundation with local roots, Knight Foundation seeks opportunities that can transform both communities and journalism, and help them reach their highest potential.

The Annie E. Casey Foundation’s primary mission is to foster public policies, human-service reforms, and community supports that more effectively meet the needs of today’s vulnerable children and families. In pursuit of this goal, the Foundation makes grants that help states, cities, and neighborhoods fashion more innovative, cost-effective responses to these needs.
