Penn IUR's Third Annual Urban Leadership Forum showcased leadership in urban design and sustainability. Mayor Joseph Riley of Charleston, South Carolina and the Pennsylvania Secretary of Conservation and Natural Resources, Michael DiBerardinis were honored for their innovative visions on issues of open space.

The event began with a screening of Philadelphia's Eden Lost and Found, presented by producer Harry Wiland. Mayor Riley presented on the strides Charleston has made toward building a sustainable, urban community. The event also included a panel discussion that examined the opportunities and challenges for similar work to take place in Philadelphia and the state of Pennsylvania. Closing remarks, given by Brandywine Realty Trust President and CEO Gerard H. Sweeney, provided a business perspective on sustainability initiatives.
