
Mr. Kofi Boone Assistant

Kofi Boone is an Assistant Professor of Landscape
Architecture in the College of Design, NC State University. Kofi’s
areas of expertise include urban design, participatory design, and
environmental justice. He is co-director of the College of Design’s
Ghana Study Abroad program, and has developed interdisciplinary
studios and seminars taught in West Africa. In North Carolina, Kofi
works collaboratively with Research, Extension and Engagement
specialists on community design projects across the state. He also
serves as a consultant on community and urban design projects
through AIA UDAT (Urban Design Assistance Team), SDAT (Sustainable
Design Assessment Team), and American Architecture Foundation
sponsored Institutes. Prior to joining NC
State University, Kofi was a site designer at JJR (formerly Johnson
Johnson and Roy, Inc.) where he worked on many interdisciplinary
community and urban design projects. Kofi graduated from The
University of Michigan with a Master of Landscape Architecture in
1995, and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources in 1992. He is
a native of Detroit, Michigan.
