Julian Francis Abele Fundraising Initiative

The PennDesign Black Student Alliance has established a fundraising goal to recognize the contributions of Julian Francis Abele by endowing a scholarship in his name. Julian Francis Abele, a native Philadelphian, was the first African American Architecture graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. The PennDesign BSA has a dual purpose in our fundraising goal. We desire to create a fund that can provide opportunities for future underrepresented minority students and acknowledge the contributions of one of our most notable African American Alum. The proceeds from the scholarship fund will be distributed to underrepresented minority students within the University of Pennsylvania School of Design demonstrating need and a commitment to community through volunteerism.
