Lifetime achievement
award to Luborsky
- Lester Luborsky,
Ph.D.,
Professor Emeritus of Psychology in Psychiatry, received the American
Psychological Foundations Gold Medal Award for lifetime achievement
in August. This award is the third Luborsky has received this year;
he also won the Mary Sigourney Award for Psychoanalysis from the American
Psychoanalytic Association and the Paul H. Hoch Award from the American
Psychopathological Association.
- Douglas F. Cowen,
Ph.D.,
Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy, has received a National
Science Foundation Career Award for his work on AMANDA, an experiment
to detect ultra high energy neutrinos at the South Pole.
- Scott L. Diamond,
Ph.D.,
Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering and Instructor of Medicine
and Engineering, is the 1999 recipient of the American Institute of
Chemical Engineers Allan P. Colburn Award for Excellence in Publications
by a Young Member of the Institute. It is awarded to a distinguished
chemical engineer under the age of 36 and includes a $5,000 award.
