NEWS BRIEFSPenn rates againPenn was ranked among the top ten universities in America for the third consecutive year in the U.S. News & World Report rankings of colleges and universities. Caltech took the No. 1 spot for the first time ever, displacing last years top schools, Harvard (2), Princeton (4) and Yale (4). MIT was third, Stanford sixth and Penn, Duke and Johns Hopkins tied for seventh. Last year, Penn tied for sixth with Duke and Cornell, which fell to 11th. Its officialAfter consulting with student and other campus leaders over the summer, President Judith Rodin accepted the recommendations of the Working Group on Alcohol Abuse in August. The groups recommendations, which called for better enforcement of existing rules, more entertainment and recreation alternatives, and the creation of a rapid response teamÓ for alcohol policy issues, have been incorporated into the Universitys revised Alcohol and Drug Policy. |
