A lot of Moxy on the
World Cafe
Seems “The World Cafe” can’t get enough of Moxy Fruvous.
The cheeky Canadians, an audience favorite at last year’s Singer/Songwriter
Weekend, are featured yet again on Nov. 2 when the Cafe re-airs their
earlier studio visit. But there’s plenty that’s new these next
two weeks, too, including releases by Afro-Celt Sound System and the Indigo
Girls. Here’s the complete rundown:
 Thursday,
Oct. 28 Modern day bluesman Joe Louis Walker drops in to perform
music from “Silvertone Blues”
Friday,
Oct. 29 The Afro-Celt Sound System visit Indre recording studios
for a special performance featuring music from their latest effort, “Volume
2 - Release”
Monday,
Nov. 2 An encore presentation of Moxy Fruvous’ Cafe visit
Tuesday,
Nov. 3 Midwestern singer/songwriter Dave Moore plays music
from his latest release, “Breaking Down to 3”
Wednesday,
Nov. 4 The Cafe celebrates the words and music of Townes Van Zandt
Thursday,
Nov. 5 Buddy & Julie Miller chat with David and perform in the
studio
Friday,
Nov. 5 The Indigo Girls drop by Indre for a special performance and
interview featuring music from their new release, “Come On Now Social”
Monday,
Nov. 8 An encore presentation of Kevin Welch’s studio
visit
Tuesday,
Nov. 9 Country blues artists Paul Rishell and Annie Raines
stop by for a performance and interview featuring music from “Moving
to the Country”
Wednesday,
Nov. 10 David Dye celebrates the influence of the Byrds with
a special “Children of the Byrds” program
"The World Cafe," which is heard on more than 100 public radio stations nationwide, is produced by WXPN-FM (88.5) and airs locally from 2 to 7 p.m. weekdays. All live appearances air between 3 and 4 p.m. .
