February 3, 2000 EDITOR'S PICK Enter the (Year of the) Dragon Photo by Paul Hu You’re guaranteed to have a bang-up time at the University of Pennsylvania Museum’s 19th annual Chinese New Year Celebration Feb. 5. But before the traditional fireworks that cap the Lion Dance finale, there’s plenty of educational and fun things to see and do at the daylong festival. Music and dance performances, arts and crafts workshops, vegetable carving with chef Joe Poon (photo), and demonstrations of tai chi, kung fu, qi gong and falun gong are among the dozens of activities taking place at the celebration. The Museum Cafe, Museum Shop and Pyramid Shop will feature Chinese items as well. --S.S.
