Art that crosses the (city) line
Like the SEPTA train above, students in the PARTNERS program cross bridges regularly through paired relationships between city and suburban schools. "Partners in Education, Partners in Art," at the Arthur Ross Gallery through Aug. 5, celebrates the program's 10th anniversary with artwork produced by students in the paired schools, including this mural, "The Train That Crosses Bridges." The Arthur Ross Gallery is located at 220 S. 34th St. Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission free.

Let there be lighthouses...
and behold, there are lighthouses — the latest addition to the Morris Arboretum's annual Garden Railway exhibit. Designer Paul Busse has added models of notable American lighthouses, such as Oregon's Umpqua River Light, shown here, to the exhibit's collection of historic structures from Philadelphia and elsewhere. The Garden Railway is on display at the Arboretum, 100 Northwestern Ave., Chestnut Hill, through Oct. 8. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
