EXPERT ADVICE Tips on getting into college Now is the time when high school juniors and seniors start thinking about college. Which one is right for me? What sorts of courses will help me improve my chances of getting in? Should I do a lot of extracurricular activities? How important are test scores and essays? The staff of Penns Undergraduate Admissions Office knows the answers to these and many other questions about the college admissions process, and theyre willing to share them with you and your family. On Sept. 4 and 5, the office will host college admissions seminars for Penn families whose teenagers are starting out on their quest for college. The sessions will focus on the selection process for colleges large and small, public and private. Admissions officers will discuss what it takes to get into a competitive college, how to get the most out of a campus visit, and other issues such as financial aid.
