A
weekend of events celebrating 125 years of Penn women drew more
than 1,200 alumnae to campus. They pushed the buildings on Locust
Walk back a foot or two to get closer to the dedication of the new
Womens Walkway on the bridge over 38th Street (above).

And
they awarded the 2001 Beacon Award for leadership furthering
the advancement of women to Judith Rodin (above), the Universitys
president since 1994 and the first woman to serve as president of
an Ivy League institution (shown with Chris Hikawa on the right,
chair of the Trustees Council of Penn Women).

The
numerous events also included panel discussions and a special reception
to honor Penn women who have authored books. Shown above is author
Ruth Branning Molloy (Ed30) pointing to her own book pictured
on the celebrations commemorative poster.
