Contemporary quiltmakers like Deborah Schwartzman, whose 1999 work
Autumn Sugar appears above, have put a new spin on the
folk art of quilting. The Arthur Ross Gallery exhibit At the
Cutting Edge: The State of the Art Quilt, opening June 15,
showcases the unorthodox techniques and materials todays fabric
