EDITOR'S PICK

Hollywood, County Kerry

Bronson Pinchot (photo) and Tim Ruddy play 15 different characters, including the spoiled American starlet, in Marie Jones’ “Stones in His Pockets.”

It’s a familiar film plot: Hollywood movie crew invades bucolic small town and turns the world upside down. This time, though, the small town is in County Kerry, Ireland, and the sendup of the American star-making machine takes place on the live stage, not the soundstage.

Marie Jones’ play “Stones in His Pockets” has won raves on both sides of the Atlantic and two of London’s top theater awards, the Olivier Award and the Evening Standard Award, both for best comedy. For Thanksgiving, Penn Presents brings the play to Philadelphia for the first time, with Bronson Pinchot and Tim Ruddy playing both the film crew and the locals caught up in the frenzy.
