More holiday shopping tips


Besides the finds described in “Out and About” on page 5, these two upcoming events offer you a chance to obtain truly unique holiday gifts and support worthy causes.

The Arts ‘n’ Crafts Fair on Friday, Dec. 6, features a diverse array of local artists offering handcrafted clothing, jewelry, artwork and more. Sponsored by the Women of Color Committee. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Bodek Lounge, Houston Hall, 3417 Spruce St.

The GSFA Clay Studio’s annual Semester-End Ceramic Sale, Thursday and Friday, Dec. 12 and 13, features more than 500 one-of-a-kind pieces created by ceramics faculty, staff and students. Handmade cups can be had for as little as five dollars. Twenty percent of the proceeds go to fund the Ceramics Scholarship, which permits a distinguished clay student to participate in nationally recognized workshops and residencies. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on College Green, Locust Walk between 34th and 36th streets.
