EDITOR'S PICK

We’ve got ’em covered

This scale model covered bridge from last summer’s exhibit gets company this year.

This summer, you can come to the Morris Arboretum and cross the bridge to the 19th century, courtesy master garden railway designer Paul Busse.

For the sixth edition of the Arboretum’s popular Garden Railway Display, Busse has chosen “Americana: Covered Bridges, Mills and Barns” as the theme. Pennsylvania Dutch barns, a Carolina cotton mill, a Long Island windmill and an iron-link covered suspension bridge are among the 14 new structures added to this year’s display. As usual, all are made of materials found in nature, including acorn caps, grapevines, lotus pods and star anise seeds.
