Space-saving automobiles

A flatbed holding crushed cars may be commonplace at the local dump, but in front of University Square on 36th Street? The directors of the nonprofit group PhillyCarShare used this catchy visual—15 crushed cars on a flatbed truck—to demonstrate that joining their community-based vehicle sharing program takes more than 15 cars off the road. PhillyCarShare’s directors, who include four Penn graduates, also had two hybrid cars on hand on Sept. 26 to celebrate the opening of their station at 38th and Walnut streets.
