Institute of Contemporary Art director Claudia Gould (center left) points out a noteworthy quote inscribed on one of 21 benches that line Woodland Walk through Hill Square. The benches are part of “125 Years,” a permanent installation by artist Jenny Holzer commemorating 125 years of women at Penn. Holzer and her assistants went through more than two centuries’ worth of comments from alumni, alumnae, local publications and other sources in the University Archives to produce the running commentary on women’s education found on the benches and curbstones of the walkway, which was dedicated Nov. 7.
