King Midas is remembered in Greek mythology for his golden touch—everything he laid his hands on turned to gold. Learn about the powerful ruler of the Phrygian kingdom, what is now central Turkey, through the new Penn Museum exhibition “The Golden Age of King Midas.” The Museum, at 3260 South St., is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free for Penn faculty, staff, and students with a PennCard. To mark half a century as one of the leading contemporary art museums in the world, the exhibition “ICA@50: Pleasing Artists and Publics Since 1963” animates the Institute of Contemporary Art’s past and propels it into the future. The ICA is celebrating the anniversary by examining lesser-known moments in contemporary art, engage today’s artists, commission new projects, and move toward the unknown.
