The next two weeks on “The World Cafe” have a distinctly feminine flavor, as singer-songwrtiers Tracy Chapman, Sarah Hamer and Melissa Ferrick all pay a visit, along with Woody Guthrie’s daughter Nora. Here’s the complete rundown:

Wednesday, May 24 Singer/songwriter Sarah Harmer brings the charm of her new album “You Were Here” to the Cafe studios

Thursday, May 25 Gipsyland bring their world music meld to the Cafe with songs from their debut “Viva La Musica”

Friday, May 26 Nora Guthrie pays tribute to her father Woody and discusses the “Mermaid Avenue” project, an album of previously unreleased Woody songs

Monday, May 29 An encore presentation of David Gray’s visit

Tuesday, May 30 Singer/songwriter Melissa Ferrick drops by the Cafe studios to perform music from her latest album, “Freedom”

Wednesday, May 31 Oakland, California’s Vagabond Lovers visit the World Cafe for a performance and interview featuring music from “When I Was You”

“The World Cafe,” which is heard on more than 100 public radio stations nationwide, is produced by WXPN (88.5 FM) and airs locally from 2 to 7 p.m. weekdays. All live appearances air between 3 and 4 p.m.
